Beijing, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) — The global recycled chemical fiber market is experiencing robust growth in 2026, fueled by tightening environmental policies and increasing demand from downstream industries such as textiles and automotive, a latest industry report shows.
Data indicates that the global recycled fiber market size exceeded 80 billion US dollars in 2024, with China accounting for 35% of the global production capacity. A 60,000-ton rPET direct spinning production line launched in 2025 has reduced energy consumption by 62% compared with traditional processes, while BMW’s new energy vehicles have begun mandating the use of 50% recycled fiber for seat fabrics. However, the industry faces challenges such as stricter EU REACH regulations and rising export costs.
Analysts predict that the global recycled chemical fiber market will continue to expand, with the adoption of room-temperature depolymerization technology expected to increase the recycling rate of blended fabrics from 35% to 82% by 2029.
